Canadians Playing Hockey?

After Bran and the kids got back from McD's today I took Blake outside with me for a few hours. We always have a blast. The weather was amazing, nice and warm. The curtains of the barns were open, and the cows were loving the mild, spring-like temps. Still, winter is still here, they are calling for a winter storm by next weekend, and tomorrow will be 30, compared to the 60 that it was today. An even better reminder that winter still is but that spring is on the way was the small flock of geese on our still-frozen pond. When the dairy was built they needed fill dirt, so they dug a hole, a GREAT BIG HOLE. It filled with water, and our pond was born. In the background of some of the pics you can see the calf ranch...

I would be one ticked off goose though, imagine flying all those miles, needing a rest, spotting a nice, big pond, only to find it froze over. Be like driving extra miles to the next rest stop only to find out the plumbing didn't work!

New calf building

The place where we take our calves built a new building for the young calves. I took some pics to send to my boss in CA, and am showing them off here as well...

Found!

Ha Ha! Brandy forgot to delete one!

Not Fast Enough...

I took some pictures of our new calf building to email to my owner-boss in California, and when I dumped them on the home computer for the purpose of posting them here I noticed some pics that Brandy had taken of herself. I told her later how much I liked them, she had not, and told me she had deleted them. Ha! I bet she didn't dump the recycle bin... Dang... when did she ever get so computer smart on me? She had. Oh well. Silly girl, I really liked those pics!!! Stay tuned, some little calf pics to come later today...

Mark.Set.Go

Wish me luck... Going to start running again, something that I gave up when I started at Plymouth Dairy in 2001. Have my old nike running pants and my new reeboks ready to go. Not going to go overboard, just hope to hit my target heart rate for about a half-hour to an hour every Saturday or Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday. It promises to be fun, it's been a long time.

Also thinking about starting golfing... Well in the spring anyway. It's a good, gentlemanly sport... Need a new set of clubs, any suggestions?

Superman

He was one heck of a guy. Twice as strong as his average peers, he stood head and shoulders above them. He never tired, never even took a sick day. Very strong-willed, he never backed down from what he believed in. Driven. Focused. A perfectionist, everything had to be just so, or it was no go, and there would be hell to pay. Vote for him? Hire him for your company? Let your daughter date him?

Funny how such qualities in an adult are such royal pains-in-the-patooie when they are in one's three year old son! I could write a book about how my little Blakester can give his old pop a run for his money, but alas, I'll save those tales to embarrass him when he's well grown up.

He did have a very nice 3rd b-day, as readers of Brandy's blog are sure to have been informed of, it did turn colder here but my little man braved the cold to play in his sandbox regardless! I just can't wait until summer with both of my babies and my wonderful wife.... Especially if I stay working as "hard" as I do now!
